Investing in Youth Undergraduate Studentship Program

Date: 1 Jan 2010

Article:

The Investing in Youth Undergraduate Studentship Program is aimed at addressing the skills shortage in rural Australia by encouraging school leavers to think about a career in primary industries. The program provides students with financial support and access to a professional mentor and support network to help them with career advice and direction. It also offers relevant industry placement so that graduates can gain experience in their chosen field of study.

Up to 10 new studentships will be offered across Australian universities and other higher education institutions in 2010. Successful recipients will be selected on the basis of their commitment to primary industries and to a career in primary industries. The studentships will provide support for the 4 year tenure of undergraduate studies.

Applications close COB Friday 29th January 2010. For further information, visit Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) or contact RIRDC on (02) 6271 4100.
