Five year R&D Plan
On Thursday August 2nd the Hon Sussan Ley, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, officially launched the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation Five Year R&D Plan 2007-2012.
It features a new program structure with headings of : Market and Consumer Understanding; Winemaking Excellence; Grapes for Purpose; Sustainability of Industry, Environments and Communities; and Smart Science, Practical Solutions.

GWRDC Appointment
Helen O’Brien has been appointed R&D administration officer, taking on the roles formerly undertaken by Dee Watt who has returned to Melbourne. Research providers can contact Helen on (08) 8273 0500 or by email at helen@gwrdc.com.au . She can also advise any interested parties about the availability of final reports.

Workshops on climatic influences
...too cold, too humid, too wet, too hot...*
To discuss progress in a project dealing with climatic effects on grapevine physiology, researchers Victor Sadras and Chris Soar will be speaking at workshops in the Barossa Valley on September 18th and in the Coonawarra on September 20th.
